Influence of thermal modification of oak wood on cutting forces during milling

Abstract: This work concerns the influence of thermal modification of oak wood on cutting forces. Modified workpieces used in experiments were beforhand subjected to high temperature performance in atmosphere of overheated steam. Machining was conducted as well with usage of conventional tenoning machine as with CNC machine. In both cases acquisition of cutting forces signal was realized with piezoelectric sensors. Decrease of cutting forces was observed in milling of modified wood.

Streszczenie: Wpływ termicznej modyfikacji drewna dębu na siły skrawania podczas frezowania. Celem pracy było zbadanie wpływu termicznej modyfikacji drewna dębowego na siły skrawania podczas frezowania. Zastosowano konwencjonalną frezarko-pilarkę jak również centrum frezarskie CNC. W obu przypadkach dokonywano rejestracji sił skrawania za pomocą czujników piezoelektrycznych. Zaobserwowano spadek sił skrawania w przypadku drewna modyfikowanego.
